2019 Giving Tuesday:

We want to wish you a wonderful holiday season and also HAPPY GIVING TUESDAY. This year, we continue our partnership with JFS, but with a twist. Together JFS & DFN will GIVE out reusable bags instead of ASKing you to donate. We’ll be at your local grocery stores throughout the day tomorrow so be sure to look for us! With that said, so many are in need, and we wanted to keep our tradition of buying gifts for local children in our community. If you want to help us by purchasing a gift, please click here.

Another GIVING TUESDAY is in the books, and again we are blown away by the power of our Greater Hartford community coming together to provide DEEDS FOR those with NEEDS in 2018. Together with our generous donors, we:

Made 50 soft fleece pillows for young JFS clients
Collected $1036 for snacks, breakfast, lunch, baking ingredients + hanukah dinners for the Anja Rosenberg Food Pantry
Purchased 139 holiday gifts for JFS clients and their families through Amazon WishList, including a puzzle, art supplies, a basketball, warm boots, a toy truck, undershirts and restaurant gift cards.

A special thank you also to Greater Hartford Jewish Federation Women of Impact, The Mandell Jewish Community Center and Jewish Family Services for coming together to help us with our mission of helping those in need.  And a special shout-out to our young friends from The Mandell JCC Early Childhood Center who helped us stuff many fleece pillows, while warming our hearts.

On November 28, 2017 in honor of #GIVINGTUESDAY, Deeds for Needs hosted an event in partnership with Jewish Family Services and Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford Women’s Philanthropy for an event to help clients of JFS for the holidays.  We raised over $2,000 providing 60 household and toiletries baskets; fulfilled 100% of the wishes through our Amazon Wish List; and made 21 fleece blankets to keep families warm this winter.

On November 29, 2016, in honor of #GivingTuesday, DFN hosted an event in partnership with Jewish Family Services to provide personal hygiene and household items for the Anja Rosenberg Kosher Food Pantry at JFS in West Hartford.  We also gave out hearts for donors to buy toys and fulfill other wishes for JFS’ clients.  Our generous donors were more than giving on this Tuesday after Thanksgiving – raising over $3,000 to purchase these items for those in need in our community!
